Marcia Courage (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 84-4661293). This policy explains what information we collect through marciacourage.org, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep this simple and only collect what we need to run our programs and stay in touch with the people who support them.

Information We Collect

When you interact with our site, we may collect:

• Contact information you provide through our forms, such as name, email, phone, and mailing address, when you request a Courage Bag or Meal, apply for a scholarship, sign up to volunteer, donate items, or contact us.
• Donation information when you give through PayPal, GoFundMe, or FlipGive. We do not collect or store your payment card details ourselves. Those are handled directly by our payment partners under their own privacy and security policies.
• Basic technical information (like browser type and pages visited) that most websites collect automatically to keep the site running smoothly and understand how it’s used.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to requests for Courage Bags, Courage Meals, and scholarship applications
• Coordinate volunteer sign-ups and item donations
• Process and acknowledge donations
• Share updates about our programs, if you’ve asked to hear from us
• Improve our website and programs

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate parts of our site, including Formspree (form submissions), PayPal, GoFundMe, and FlipGive (donations). Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your information, and we encourage you to review them.

Scholarship Applicants

Our Courage Scholarship is open to high school seniors and college freshmen, some of whom may be minors. We only use information submitted with a scholarship application to evaluate that application and, if awarded, to administer the scholarship. We do not use it for any other purpose without a parent or guardian’s consent.

Data Security

We take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect the information you share with us. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe and limit access to those who need it to do their work for Marcia Courage.

Your Choices

You can ask us to remove your contact information from our records, or to stop receiving communications from us, at any time by emailing info@marciacourage.org.

Children’s Privacy

Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 outside of the scholarship application context described above.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our programs grow. We’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
